SO PR's reputation as a small team with big ideas was proven once again, as the team took silver in the ‘Best PR Stunt or Event' category at the third annual national Fresh PR Awards for the unique stunt of creating ‘the world's tallest toy train track' using Tomy UK's Tomica toy range.
Tomy UK tasked SO with a ‘no fail option' brief to launch Tomica, a new road and rail boys' toy range, into the already crowded UK toy market.
With a limited budget and just three months to get the stunt organised, SO needed a combination of creativity and effective management in order to succeed. Deciding to join forces with Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI), St. Pancras International Station, and The Gadget Show's Jason Bradbury, SO created the World's Tallest Toy Train Track - resulting in over 416 million opportunities to see and 5,453% ROI for Tomy.
Claire Palmer, director at SO PR who oversees the Tomy UK account, said: "We're delighted to win silver in this category. We worked hard to come up with a stunt that would keep the Tomica brand centre stage without being overtly commercial, as we could not risk turning off the national media. Teaming up with the RBLI provided us with a perfect charity and newsworthy angle, and helped us achieve our goal of placing Tomica well and truly in the public eye."
Fish & chips, bangers & mash - some things just go perfectly together, like SO & Weber.
